El Torrent is a very special project for us: the design of our own studio. Located in the centre of Mataró, the space is a small, irregularly shaped premises with a completely open-plan layout and an interior courtyard that brings in natural light.
The proposal is based on a very simple and functional layout. The main area is organised around a large central table, freeing up the perimeter for complementary furniture and shelving. In the narrowest part of the space, benefiting from natural light coming through the courtyard, we placed the office area and meeting table. The relationship between these two spaces remains completely open, while a curtain system provides privacy whenever needed.
The studio is wrapped in soft beige tones across floors, walls, and ceilings, creating a warm, calm, and welcoming atmosphere. Accents of colour and natural materials are introduced selectively to add character to the space, generating a subtle contrast between the bathroom, entrance, and office area.
